How to Read This Dashboard
This dashboard tracks reservoir fill levels across Poland. Each card shows a dam's current water storage as a percentage of its total capacity. The system checks for new data every six hours — some upstream sources update daily, others weekly or monthly.
What the Numbers Mean
Percentage represents how full a reservoir is relative to its maximum design capacity. MCM (Million Cubic Metres) is the standard unit for measuring reservoir volumes. Below 20% capacity, evaporation losses accelerate, water quality degrades as sediment concentrates, and extraction becomes physically harder as water levels drop below outlet pipes.
Severity Indicators
Dams are colour-coded by fill level: red (critical) means below 20% of capacity, amber (warning) indicates 20–40%, and green (healthy) means above 40%. Click any dam card to explore its full history and year-on-year comparisons.
